Lakeview NeuroRehabilitation Center, Effingham, NH participates in MOTBIP Training

On May 8 and 9, staff from Lakeview NeuroRehabilitation Center of Effingham, NH made up of Administrator David Armstrong, Director of Adult Programs Joe Viana, and Director of Nursing Lorene Zammuto were in Center Stafford, NH for the “Military Orientation Training for Brain Injury Professionals,” an intensive, interactive day learning about some of what soldiers experience in the battlefield.

This training allowed Lakeview representatives to better understand the physical and mental toll that war takes on veterans and how Lakeview can better treat its patients who have been in a war zone.

The training began by giving attendees a standard-issue ballistic vest and helmet, ear buds and protective eyewear. Over the course of the day the Lakeveiw employees were given the chance to ride in a Humvee, shoot automatic weapon replicas, experience a medical evacuation, and go for a spin in a Black Hawk helicopter.

Lakeview NeuroRehabilitation Center is proud to serve our Veterans who have suffered brain injuries; often complicated by substance abuse and Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. In addition, Lakeview sponsored the MRE (meals ready to eat) that was distributed to all volunteers during the training.
