Lakeview Wisconsin Community Outreach Addresses Therapeutic Horsemanship

Lakeview Specialty Hospital & Rehab continues its community education and outreach during Brain Injury Awareness Month. Laurie Rumpf, CRC, Director of the Adult Residential Program in Waterford, WI, presented to families, professionals and paraprofessionals this Saturday March 8th in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Ms. Rumpf presented at the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International conference addressing the topic, “Understanding & Treating Functional Impacts of Brain Injury and Related Behaviors”. Ms. Rumpf integrated the benefits of therapeutic riding, such as increasing balance & core muscles, as wells as promoting healthy social interpersonal skills. Lakeview programs in both NH and WI offer various non-traditional therapeutic modalities include therapeutic horsemanship and equine facilitated therapies.
