Clinical research findings on behavioral health and cognitive sequelae of mTBI will be presented. Additional information includes research literature and clinical findings regarding rates of cognitive complaint and especially of behavioral health complications (especially depression) following mTBI and their relationship to post-concussive syndrome. A special focus includes examination of the role of neuropsychological evaluation and the qualitative and quantitative aspects of the evaluation process to ensure optimization of this type of assessment common to mTBI cases. The presentation covers both early versus late stage mild TBI symptoms and the implications for treatment as time from injury progresses in order to improve outcomes and optimize efficiency and effectiveness of treatment.
